Details of next Masterclass announced.

We are pleased to announce the details of the next in our series of corporate governance masterclasses. It will be a joint event with Eversheds at their London offices and the details are as follows:

21st century boardroom behaviours

The good, the bad and the ugly

Eversheds, 1 Wood Street, London EC2V 7WS, 9 October 18:30

In the wake of the financial crisis and ongoing questions around corporate performance, how boards achieve best practice in boardroom behaviour has become a topic of much debate.  Eversheds and Board Evaluation Limited (BEL) are delighted to host an exclusive seminar and discussion on these issues.

Aimed at chairmen, executive directors, non-executive directors, company secretaries and general counsel, the discussion will be led by Chris Pierce a leading expert in the field of corporate governance and author of Corporate Governance in the European Union. The event will be chaired by Mark Spinner, Head of Corporate Governance and Business Ethics at Eversheds. Jean Pousson, Director of Consultancy at BEL and experts from Eversheds will also join a panel to explore the following issues:

  • What do we mean by appropriate boardroom behaviours and what is best practice?

  • What are the respective roles and responsibilities of the different stakeholders chairman, SID, NED, company secretary and general counsel?

  •  How can companies develop and ensure best practice board behaviours?

  • What are the different models of good corporate governance across different jurisdictions?

  • How can skills audits and board evaluation help?

  • How does the bribery act, antitrust laws and risk management demand good behaviours?

There will be ample opportunity to share views and experiences at what promises to be a thought provoking and insightful evening.  Drinks, canaps and networking opportunities will be available both before and after the discussion.
